Seascapes are my personal favourite scene to capture , this excellent example was my first overall pick. A nicely positioned horizon with a great colour to the sky , aided by filtering. The distant land element provides a additional point of interest . The foreground Interest is immense , large and powerful with great shape and texture , the lead in composition element that is obtained from the rocks as the fade into the sea , just pulls the viewer from front to back . The long exposure for the water effect provides that milky colour and texture that sets the picture for me . Paul Emmings

Impactful black and white application, with strong composition utilizing S-Curve to draw the attention to the man. Simple yet compelling image. Visually intriguing and surely very unique in comparison with usual landscape stereotypes of strong, bold colors. Robin Wong

This pleasing, well-composed image captures the instant of eye contact with the deer. The way the telephoto lens captures the contrast between the huge moon in the background and the animals in the foreground is beautiful and memorable. One feels as if the moon and the two deer are communing with each other. Wakako Jet

The category of DailyLife for me , means just that , events/feelings/emotions that happen on a daily basis that have been captured with creativity and thought by the photographer . For me personally this is wider than street photography. Every photo i have selected generates emotion and feeling in me for events that happen around all of us , that may go unnoticed.

My first pick for me is both a simple but very creative capture . The anonymity of daily travel , the way we all conform to what is expected of us , the routes we take without even thinking . All of this comes to me as i view this photo , the feel of motion is excellent and i particularly like the flow of the frame from the bottom left to top right. I think the post processing that has been used for this shot enhances the frame and shows the personal creativity of the photographer. Paul Emmings

Ordinary scenes from daily life sometimes reveal what is most important. This photo makes me smile spontaneously. I find myself wanting to watch over these sisters and their pet dog as they play happily together. Wakako Jet

Look closely and you can see the flock of seagulls gathered along the shore. The approaching bird dominates the composition. The photographer used a wide-angle lens and let the seagull get very close. The photographer's courage and the bird's energy make for a gripping shot. Wakako Jet

This photo is suffused with a mother's love for her child. The sleeping face of this adorable baby, spontaneously enclosed by the mother's hands, is irresistible―I can't help but smile. Wakako Jet

The hour of contemplation comes to a romantic beach. The composited flowers energetically express the photographer's enjoyment of the journey and the atmosphere of the location. I would very much like to visit this place. Wakako Jet

For me, Macro photography is all about taking you to another place, another world that exists around us and below us, and can be found and explored by the creative photographer. This category contained as you light imagine multiply images of insects and frogs, what I was looking for were shots that just went that bit further, showing creativity and inspiration.

This shot was for me a winner from the moment I viewed it, I loved the sharp focus on the eye of the subject, and then the excellent work undertaken both in shot and out of shot by the photographer in editing. A photo for me that makes you want to kiss the mystical frog, to find your very own prince. Paul Emmings

This is one outstanding selfie, taken while sky diving, surely standing out from many entries. The background of the hot air balloon added impact to the selfie, showing where the jump was made. Also, the strong contrast of blue sky and red shirt made a striking image. Robin Wong

This is one of the more creative reflection selfies, taken with a broken bulb which can be conceptual and symbolizes many things, eg broken ideas/messages. The viewer is drawn to seeing two strong elements, the bulb and the reflection inside the bulb, making the connections between the two main subjects. Robin Wong
